I am promoting this as an Act of Kindness and would like to encourage as many families from our Fred Assam Elementary School family to participate. If you are able to walk with us, wear a FAE or BV t-shirt so we can be identified during the event.
About Buddy Walk - created by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month and promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome. The Buddy Walk has grown from 17 walks in 1995 to nearly 300 walks planned for 2010 worldwide.
Walk day schedule: Registration ~ 10:00 at Sertoma Park; Walk ~ 11:00, the one mile walk begins and ends at Sertoma Park. Strollers and wagons are welcome! Food and entertainment ~ 10:00 - 1:00!
If you are unable to join us at the Buddy Walk but would like to make a donation - simply send your donation to the Fred Assam Elementary office and we will turn it over to New Directions (Sioux Falls area Down Syndrome Association).
