Pajama Day has HUGE participation!

Local Author visits Fred Assam Elementary!

We had a special guest visit school today! Local author Jean Patrick spoke to all of the students about the books she has written! She joined us in our Read Across America week of activities to promote reading in our schools and homes. This event was co-sponsored by the South Dakota Humanities Council. You can read more about Jean Patrick at her website www.jeanpatrick.com.

4th grade & Static Electricity

Static Electricity is currently the unit being studied in 4th grade science. These students were testing their new knowledge by using a balloon to move their ping pong balls to the finish line! Students rubbed thier balloon on hair and clothing to create the most static electricity. I'm thinking that I missed the best pictures though ~ the "after" pictures of hair!
