Cure Kids Cancer

Fred Assam Elementary took on a very personal project to help "Cure Kids Cancer". Two of our students have battled cancer and won. Meet Amanda ~ 4th grade & Mariah ~ 3rd grade. Both girls know what it is like to have cancer. They, along with their brothers know how cancer changes the lives of the entire family. They want to help other kids who have cancer. Amanda, Mariah, and their brothers made bracelets to sell for $1.00 each to raise money for Cure Kids Cancer (Radiothon).
Principal Foster challenges students to do "Acts of Kindness" each day at school. With the help of the Student Council who sold the bracelets, Fred Assam Elementary students and staff have made a difference for kids with cancer. After one week of bracelet sales, $453.00 was raised for Cure Kids Cancer. Many Acts of Kindness were given during this new adventure!

Kindergarten screening

The first kindergarten screening day at Fred Assam Elementary School! WOW! It was a busy day with over 40 children being screened! It was so awesome to watch many eager children ready to learn and complete each task. "Thanks" parents ~ for bringing your children to screening! If you have any questions, please call the office and we will be happy to assist you.

Act of Kindness

The Hallstrom family is the 2nd family to receive a check from the Fred Assam Elementary Student Council. The valentine/sucker sales was a great success and student council members voted to give the profit of our sales to two families in our school. The Hallstrom family had a fire in their home during Christmas break and are in the process of repairing their home. In this picture, Student Council President Carter is presenting the check to Allen, Beth & Emma. Emma is in our afternoon kindergarten class.

update on Frassy

Frassy ~ the puppy that the Peters' family adopted from the Humane Society, is 'growing like a weed'! Frassy came to school on Tuesday for a visit. Students and staff were all surprised about how big she has gotten! She was very well behaved and by mid-afternoon was totally worn out. She found a cozy chair in the office and spread out for a much needed nap. She's almost too big to get comfortable in the office chair! Frassy is very mild-mannered and will make a wonderful therapy dog for our school. We just need to get through the puppy stage and then into training. We Love You, Frassy!
