4th grade LYNX team on a roll!

Meet the 4th grade girls LYNX basketball team! Samantha and Danica (front row, right) attend Fred Assam Elementary School. This talented team won the Lennox Tournament. They played teams from Lennox, Brookings, and Mitchell. The LYNX team outscored their three opponents 129 - 26! Congratulations to all of the girls on this team! You are awesome!!

SWISH!

They did it again! Courtney, Felicity, and Arianna ~ members of the Brandon Valley SWISH team ~ are the 5th grade champions of the Tri-State Basketball tournament this past week-end. I had the pleasure of watching the lady lynx in action during their first game on Friday night. I can't wait to watch this team of talented ladies during their high school years! You represent Brandon Valley School District very well and we are proud of you!

Indoor recess

When the temperature and wind chill are below zero ~ recess is indoors. Students made good use of the new games and toys provided by Student Council.

Not to be "out-done" by the students . . .

The 100th Day of School is not just for the students! The teachers had a little fun after school and created their own pictures. Each team was given 100 items in a bag to use in their picture.

NO RECESS... AGAIN!

With temperatures and wind chills falling below the zero mark, it's hard to get outside to run off some energy. In an attempt to help with indoor recess boredom, Student Council bought tubs for each grade level filled with numerous board games, toys, art supplies, etc. Money that was raised from the cookie dough sales helped with the purchase.

They did it again!

The SWISH team captured another championship last week-end! Courtney, Felicity, and Arianna play on the team with other Brandon Valley girls. They played in the Memorial Middle School tournament. I keep hearing so much about how AWESOME this team is so tonight I'm going to find a seat and watch some basketball action. Not only are these girls talented on the court, they're also leaders in their classrooms. Proud of you girls! Good luck this week-end!

It's roller skating . . . and so much more! Moms, dads, students, brothers, sisters . . . enjoyed a fun evening at Carousel Skate on Thursday. Not only do we skate ~ we play pool and other games and EAT!
