flag duty

5th grade students rotate the flag duty each week. Volunteers select their week of duty and they are responsible for putting the flag up each morning and taking it down at the end of the school day. Once in a while, a flag goes up the wrong way ~ but not very often! The students have learned how to handle the flags and the appropriate way to fold the flags. It's always nice to be recognized for the things you do ~ and that just happened to our band director, Mr. Del Hubers! He was recently notified that his teaching blog, Brandon Valley 5th Grade Band, was determined to be one of the best 5th grade blogs in our region!

Homecoming excitement for 2 FAE students!

I can't even imagine how cool it is to ride in a helicopter! Austin and Braden (brothers) got to do just that! Along with their dad ~ who is an ER physician at Avera ~ they helped deliver the game ball for the Brandon Valley vs SF Roosevelt football game. Looking good, guys!!

HS cheerleaders help with Pep Rally

Thank-you to the HS cheerleaders for leading the pep rally on Friday! It was lots of fun!! Congratulations to King Jeff & Queen Jessica for being selected Homecoming Royalty. Thanks also to Sam and Sam ~ football players who also visited on Friday. The elementary student body was a "sea" of school colors ~ red, black, and white everywhere!
