Kari Kay, author of Floppy Cat, (www.floppycat.com) visited Fred Assam Elementary School today. She based her children's book on the life of her real cat, Floppy, who was born with a balance problem. She is using his trials as a metaphor for the differences children are prone to spot. Floppy enjoyed his life. Never letting his challenges stand in his way of having fun.
Her tips for children include: * keep your head held high at all times; * don't let challenges hold you back from doing or getting what you want; * figure out what you want and go for it and be willing to learn new things; * believe in yourself! use your uniqueness to move forward in life; * stay positive! look for the good in every situation.
Information will be sent home with students on Wednesday on how to purchase a Floppy Cat book and/or CD. Kari Kay will also autograph each book that is ordered. Be sure to visit the Floppy Cat website!! Thanks, Kari Kay and Floppy!
